This natural reserve is considered the area with the most biodiversity in the planet.  Its wild forests form a natural barrier that prevents the relentless invasion of the jungle and allows the conservation of many species of plants and animals, many of them still unknown to science. This place is an enormous natural laboratory for researchers and paradise for those who want to discover the jungle in its wildest state. To visit the reserve you can travel by plane or bus from Lima or Cusco to Puerto Maldonado and then embark on a 3 hour journey by river boat to the lodge.  Today it is also possible to reach Puerto Maldonado from Brazil through the Interoceanic Highway.
